Jonathan Weinstein

Dr. Jonathan Weinstein completed his undergraduate training at the University of Michigan in 1995 before attending the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York. He completed his residency in internal medicine at North Shore University Hospital, where he was selected to serve as Chief Medical Resident. Dr. Weinstein then completed his fellowship training in cardiovascular disease in the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, where he was selected as Chief Cardiology Fellow and where he also went on to complete a subspecialty fellowship in interventional cardiology.

After joining North Suffolk Cardiology in 2008, Dr. Weinstein became the first community-based interventional cardiologist in Suffolk County to perform transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). TAVR is an entirely catheter-based procedure where a diseased aortic valve of the heart is replaced without the need for open heart surgery. Dr. Weinstein is an integral part of the team of cardiologists and cardiac surgeons performing the procedure at Stony Brook University Hospital. He is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology, and interventional cardiology and maintains privileges at Stony Brook University Hospital, John T. Mather Hospital in Port Jefferson, St. Catherine of Siena Hospital in Smithtown, St. Charles Hospital, North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset and Long Island Jewish Medical Center (see comments above). He performs the full spectrum of invasive cardiac and peripheral arterial diagnostic testing, as well as coronary and peripheral cardiovascular interventions.
